Good to know
Questions, answered
The things people ask us most — about moving around Watford and the WD area, storage and packing, moves into Europe, and how quotes and booking work.
Moving around Watford & the WD area
Which parts of Watford do you cover?
All of it. The town centre and Nascot (WD17/18), North Watford, Callowland, Leavesden and Garston (WD24/25), and Oxhey and Carpenders Park (WD19). We spill happily into the neighbours too — Bushey, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth and Abbots Langley.
Can you move flats in the town-centre new-builds?
Regularly. The regeneration flats around the town centre and the Junction come with lifts, loading bays and booking rules, so we plan the logistics ahead — reserve the bay and the lift, protect the communal areas, and time the load-in to keep the day smooth.
What about the Victorian terraces in Nascot and Callowland?
That is a lot of what we move. Bay-fronted terraces, narrow halls, a turn at the top of the stairs and kerbside parking that fills up early — we know the shape by heart, bring the right protection, and take the awkward pieces steadily.
Do you plan around Watford FC match days?
We do. Match days around Vicarage Road bring road closures and parking pressure across the town centre, so if your move lands on one, we plan the route and the timing around it rather than getting caught out.
Do you cover Bushey, Croxley Green and Rickmansworth?
Yes, as neighbouring coverage. The leafier streets of Bushey, the canal-side homes at Croxley Green, and the commuter and converted-flat mix in Rickmansworth are all within easy reach of our Watford base.
Services, packing & storage
What is included in a home removal?
A survey before the day for anything but the smallest move, blankets and protection for your furniture and floors, beds and wardrobes taken apart and rebuilt, and careful loading and setting-down at the new address. Packing, storage and unpacking bolt on if you want them — you pick the level.
Do you do man and van for smaller jobs?
Yes. For a single room, a few big items or a quick collection across the WD area, a driver and a right-sized van is often the sensible call. We will be straight with you about when a man and van fits and when a full removal would serve you better.
Can you provide storage in Watford?
We can — clean, dry, secure storage for a few boxes, furniture, business stock or a whole home. We take a full inventory as your things go in, and we can roll a move-and-store into one booking with one team, which helps when the dates between homes do not quite meet.
Do you handle business and furniture storage?
Yes. Alongside household storage we hold business stock, records and surplus office furniture, and we can store larger or awkward items between moves. It is all inventoried as it comes in, and access is by arrangement during office hours.
Can you move an office or business?
Yes. We plan commercial moves around your working hours — out of hours or at the weekend where that protects trading — handle IT, desks and equipment, offer crate hire, and can store surplus stock or records. Croxley Business Park and the town-centre offices are regular ground for us.
European & international moves
Do you move from Watford to Europe?
We run household moves that leave from Watford to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Each is framed as a route pair — your WD address to the new one abroad — and one team stays with the move from collection to delivery, so nothing gets handed to a stranger at a depot.
How does customs work now, after Brexit?
For personal belongings going to a new main home in the EU there is a recognised relief, and we prepare the paperwork — the inventory and the transit and customs documents — as part of the move. You will not be filling in forms at a border; we handle that side and explain what you need to sign and why.
Can you take a part-load instead of a whole van?
Yes. If you are not filling a lorry, a shared load — your goods travelling with other moves heading the same way — is often the smart choice. A dedicated load runs to your own schedule instead. We will explain which suits what you are actually moving.
Which UK cities can you collect from on the way abroad?
Watford is home, but the European routes we run also pick up along the way — London, Birmingham, Manchester, Luton and St Albans among them. If your move starts near one of those, it can often join the same corridor.
Quotes, timing & booking
How do I get a quote?
Send us your details and a bit about the move through the quote form, and we will come back by email with a clear, written, no-obligation quote. For a larger home we will arrange a quick survey first, so the figure is grounded in what is really there.
How soon will you get back to me?
Promptly — usually within a working day or two of getting your details. If your move is time-sensitive, say so in the notes and we will push it to the front of the queue.
When should I book?
As early as you comfortably can, especially around the end of the week and the end of the month when the good slots go first. That said, we will always try to help at shorter notice — just ask, and we will see what we can do.
Are my things covered?
Yes. Goods-in-transit and liability cover are part of how we work, and we will set the terms out in writing with your quote, so you know exactly where you stand before anything is booked.
Is the quote genuinely no-obligation?
Completely. The quote is there to help you decide. If the timing or the fit is not right, there is no pressure and nothing owed — we would rather you moved with us because it suited you.
